Our Logo, “API”
What more representative than a “hermit crab”; with its cousin, the “coconut crab” that gave its name to our land “Papakaveu” (coconut crabs in Tahitian). We chose this often enough underestimated arthropod to represent our mission. Roaming between marine and terrestrial environment, the hermit crab provides for itself in a state of self-subsistence. Its contribution to human development sectors and ecosystem is crucial. This small organism represents a major contributory human waste disposal, but also represents a food source, a strength, and an endemic wonder.
The hermit crab shell is shaped in a spiral. This animal is robust of all hardships and time, with its spiral reminding us of the endless possibilities available around us. Model of sustainable development, the hermit crab takes care of its shell, of its home!
We are designing an innovative home. API also means “new” in Tahitian.
Land and Sea
Marine operations impact terrestrial environment and vice versa. Human activities disrupt the balance of our environment. It is therefore our responsibility as benefactors to acknowledge and put forward solutions that will mitigate these anthropogenic imbalances.

Our mission
We are located 500km away from the island-capital Tahiti, in the Tuamotu archipelago, French Polynesia. On the atoll of Ahe, characterized by 12km2 of emerged land surface surrounding 138km2 of lagoon. For 25 years, this island hosted the exploitation site of our pearl farm. A practice that allowed us to perfect our understanding of the marine and terrestrial insular environment. The geographical isolation linked with the insularity motivated us to prioritize a growing autonomy focused on the sectors related to energies, environment, food, and technologies. Self-subsistence is in our DNA.
Our goals are clear and apparent: compensate our insufficiency, highlight our potentialities, and put forward innovative and enduring solutions for the next generations.
